GABA and glutamate in one run, or how to cut a long story short ....

The concept of column switching is shown below. Glutamate (red) is eluting over a 5 + 15 cm column in series. When glutamate is on the second column, a valve switches thus bypassing the second column for GABA (blue).
Also other late eluting peaks will not enter column 2, thus conveniently avoiding chromatographic problems in the following runs.
