The name Flexcell is chosen since it emphasises the versatility
and serviceability of this new thin-layer flow cell in the Antec Leyden
program. With this unrivalled design working electrodes can be serviced
without tedious dis- and re-assembly. The cost of ownership essentially
only comprises the replacement of an electrode. Very importantly,
the same holds for completely different applications, requiring an
alternative working electrode material. This makes the Flexcell pre-eminently
suitable for all sorts of electrochemical analyses like the usual
biogenic amines (glassy carbon) but also carbohydrates (gold or copper),
peroxydes (platinum), halides (silver), etc.

Applications
The 'consumption' of the gold working electrode in pulsed amperometric
detection is a typical condition where the Flexcell properties can
be fully exploited, since only renewal of the gold disk is needed
when the erosion has become unacceptable. A similar pattern occurs
with copper in amino acid or carbohydrate analysis. The halide and
cyanide detection on a silver electrode is another example to select
the Flexcell. Like the VT-03, dependent on the nature of an application,
the Flexcell can be equipped with either Ag/AgCl or HyREF
reference electrode. The working volume amounts to only 0.5 µl
so microbore columns can be used without peak broadening.
Ordering information
